June 21, 2018, City Council Regular Meeting
Title
11. Motion to Amend Article T, Section 2 of the 2018 Revenue Ordinance to Eliminate the Cap on the Equine Sanitation Fee
Strategic Priority
Good Government
Description

The City of Savannah hires a contractor to clean up the waste left on City streets by the horse-drawn carriage industry. The cost for the contract is paid for by registered carriage companies operating in the Historic District. This Tour Service Fee, adopted as part of the 2018 Revenue Ordinance, caps the cost per month for carriage companies at $1,350.00. Staff is recommending the removal of the cap so as to charge carriage companies the full cost of the service. A contract is being recommended for approval that will increase the cost by $150 per month per carriage company. Staff recommends modification of the Tour Service Fee as follows:
