Title

Strategic Priority
Infrastructure
Description

Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 for Miscellaneous Water Lines to McLendon Enterprises, Inc in the reduction in the amount of $27,761.69.

The original contract was for services to remove 1,200 linear feet of pipeline and replace it with a new water line at Perry Street and a 1,400 feet water line at Washington Avenue. Due to the nature of the existing water line this will improve domestic and fire services as well as hydraulic efficiency in the area.  This amendment is needed since additional changes have been made to the contract.  Changes include irrigation installation in the center island of Washington Avenue, re-alignment of granite curbing to extend landscaped island at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Reynolds Street, a 12 inch ductile encasement pipe at the intersection of Perry Street and Whitaker Street to enable the water main to be installed above an existing 24 inch storm pipe, and installation of water sampling monitor on Washington Avenue.

This contract was originally approved buy Council on July 19, 2018 in the amount of $1,723,535.84.  The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $1,695,774.15, representing a 1.7% decrease.
