Motion to Amend Contract for DeLesseps LaRoche Corridor Improvements with Thomas and Hutton (Event No. 716)
Description

Recommend approval of Amendment No. 4 for the DeLesseps/LaRoche Avenue Corridor Improvements Project contract with Thomas & Hutton in the amount of $42,000.00. The project improvements will include adding sidewalks, a curb and gutter section, minor lane widening, and pedestrian signals along the corridor.

This amendment is needed for additional conceptual design, route planning, cost estimates for future capital improvement planning, and programming of water and sewer utilities relocations and improvements within the corridor, as required by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). GDOT is providing 80% of contract funding.

The original contract was approved by Council on March 21, 2013 in the amount of $445,000.00, and included concept development, field surveys, database preparation, environmental studies, preliminary and final plans for construction, drainage, utility, erosion control, signing, pavement markings, signs and right-of-ways, final design and supplemental specifications. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $669,900.00.
