Title
27. Motion to Procure 20 Mid-Sized Sedans from J.C. Lewis Ford (Event No. 6014)
Strategic Priority
Public Safety
Description

Recommend approval to procure 20 mid-size sedans from J.C. Lewis Ford in the amount of $362,800.00. The Savannah Police Department will use these unmarked sedans in routine law enforcement services. These sedans will replace vehicles which have reached the end of their useful life cycles and are no longer cost effective to maintain.

The City of Savannah’s Purchasing Ordinance states that, in the event a local vendor submits a bid that is within 7% of the low bid submitted by a non-local vendor, the local vendor shall be afforded the opportunity to match the non-local low bidder’s pricing. The low bidder, O.C. Welch Ford Lincoln, Inc., submitted a bid in the amount of $362,800.00. J.C. Lewis Ford’s original bid was $368,163.00. Because J.C. Lewis Ford’s original bid was within 7% of the low bid, J.C. Lewis Ford was offered the opportunity to match the low bidder’s pricing. J.C. Lewis Ford agreed to match the low bidder’s pricing.
