Description

Recommend approval to award a construction contract for the renovation of the John S. Delaware Center to Johnson-Laux Construction through the state contract in the amount of $1,059,162.

This project will include interior and exterior upgrades to the John S. Delaware Center.  New windows, flooring, paint, landscaping and a new building entrance will be included in the scope of work.  Also, additional upgrades to kitchen, media room, fitness center and community room will be performed.      

The State of Georgia’s job order contract will be used to perform this project to meet time constraints and City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia’s job order contract is considered a convenience contract that is available for use by all state, city and county public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide multi-traded general construction services to accomplish small-to-medium sized projects for repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation and minor new construction to infrastructure, buildings, structures or other real property. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select Johnson-Laux Construction to serve as a provider of these services for this region.
