Description

Recommend approval to procure water and sewer relocation engineering and design services from Thomas and Hutton in the amount of $240,822.00.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is beginning a project to widen and raise Ogeechee Road from I-516 to Victory Drive, loctaed in Aldermanic Districts 1 and 5. The work will include:

  • removing approximately 1,200 linear feet of an existing 24-inch waterline and replacing it with a new 24-inch waterline;
  • removing approximately 6,000 linear feet of an existing 6-inch waterline and replacing it with a new 8-inch waterline;
  • removing approximately 1,200 linear feet of an existing 4-inch force main and replacing it with a new 4-inch force main; and
  • removing approximately 3,200 linear feet of an existing 8-inch gravity sewer and replacing it with a new 8-inch gravity sewer.

All work shall be conducted while maintaining water and sewer service. All water and sewer line relocation designs shall be coordinated with GDOT Engineer and shall be installed using open-cut methods inside GDOT rights of way. The relocation plan format shall be in GDOT format.
