Motion to Amend Appendix I, Section 208 of the Savannah Code of Ordinances to Adopt Radar Permit Changes Made by the Georgia Department of Transportation
The Georgia Department of Transportation has revised the radar permit for the City of Savannah and unincorporated Chatham County. Changes to the master list of streets and highways are required to be adopted by City Council in order for the permit to be finalized by GDOT and the Georgia Department of Public Safety. Changes previously approved by the Mayor and Aldermen are included in the new permit.
Adoption of the radar permit allows the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department the use of radar and LIDAR to enforce posted speed limits on City streets.
