Title
31. Motion to Renew Annual Contract for Police Seized Property with Liberty Auction Company (Event No. 5450)
Strategic Priority
Public Safety
Description

This item is being withdrawn at the request of the City Manager.

Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for auction services with Liberty Auction Company.  There is no financial impact to the City as this contract is revenue-generating.  These services will be used to auction property seized by the Savannah Police Department that has been authorized for sale by order of the Superior Court of Chatham County pursuant to O.C.G.A. Secs. 17-5-51 and 17-5-52.  The contractor will provide the City 65% of total auction sales.  Historical usage of these services has grossed an income of approximately $10,000.00 over a two-year period.

The method of procurement used was the request for proposal (RFP), which evaluates criteria in addition to cost.  The criteria for this RFP were the firm’s qualifications and experience, technical capabilities, references, local vendor participation, and fees.  All submitting firms were interviewed and all submitting firms were asked to provide best and final offers.

Proposals were originally received on September 19, 2017.  Council originally approved this contract on January 18, 2018.  This is the first of two available renewal options.

This contract term shall be from January 3, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
