36. Motion to Declare Surplus and Available for Sale Property Located at 740 Chevis Road

This item is being withdrawn at the request of the City Manager.

The City-owned property located at 740 Chevis Road (PIN 1-1004-04-022) was previously used as Fire Station #15.  The property is currently vacant, as staff have relocated operations to the new Sweetwater location.

The 6.17-acre site is improved with a +/- 1,920-square-foot one-story manufactured building (the station house), and a fire apparatus garage. The station house features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, kitchen, office, storage room, and mudroom. The property is zoned Residential-VL. Staff will procure an appraisal of market value.

If declared surplus and made available for sale, staff will engage the services of Colliers International – Savannah, a previously approved real estate broker to market the property. Proposals will be evaluated by an interdisciplinary committee of staff, and a recommendation of the highest responsible bidder will be made to City Council for award.
