Description

The petition of Joseph Ross, AREP V Investments, LLC on behalf of Savannah Hospitality, LLC is to rezone a 3.58 acre parcel at 5820 White Bluff Road (PIN 20131 04002) from B-C (Community Business) to RMF-2-30 (Multifamily Residential-2-30 units per acre). The proposed project consists of converting 102 suites of the Homewood Suites Hotel into 102 apartments. The existing hotel amenities would remain with no changes to the existing site. However, the existing tennis court may be re-purposed into a patio.

The property fronts White Bluff Road and has access to Abercorn Street. It is across from Hunter Army Airfield and Savannah Tech. The parcel has enough density for 30 units per acre. The parking requirements would be one off-street parking space per unit which the current parking configuration meets.

 

 

Recommendation

During the December 14, 2021 MPC meeting, the Planning Commission recommended to approve the rezoning of 5820 White Bluff Road (PIN 20131 04002) from a B-C (Community Business) to RMF-2-30 (Multifamily Residential-2-30).
