The award will be used to implement general Dislocated Worker workforce training activities. The City serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region.

Description

The City of Savannah has received a “Statement of Grant Award” through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act for a FY24 Rapid Response grant in the amount of $70,000 from the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Workforce Development to be administered by WorkSource Coastal. These funds will be used to implement general Dislocated Worker workforce/training activities. The grant period is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The Rapid Response grant will serve Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven counties. 

 

Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region and, as such, City Council approval and authorization is necessary for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements, in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures.
