Description

Recommend approval to procure environmental consulting services from Cardno, Inc. in the amount of $294,000.00. The environmental consulting services will be used by the Office of Sustainability for services related to the 2018 Environmental Protection Agency Community-Wide Brownfield Assessment Grant award.  These services are reimbursed 100% by the grant and the grant has no local match requirement.

The Brownfield Assessment Grant will assist property owners along the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Montgomery Street corridors whose properties may face complicated redevelopments due to the presence of potential hazardous material, pollutants or contaminants. 

Services in this contract include:

  • EPA Brownfield grant programmatic assistance
  • Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Cleanup, planning, and remediation design
  • Community engagement support
  • Grant writing for federal, state, and private grant programs
  • Other services related to EPA Assessment, Cleanup, Multipurpose, and Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grants

An open DBE participation goal was established for this project.  The recommended proposer submitted participation in the total amount of 19% using Rumley Solutions, dba Hummingbird(C) in the amount of 4%, Symbioscity LLC(A) in the amount of 4%, Xenco Laboratories(C) in the amount of 5%, Analytical Environmental Services, Inc.(C) in the amount of 5%, and GeoSearch(C) in the amount of 1%
