Title
4. Appearance and Recognition of St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems' $15,000 donation to the Savannah Affordable Housing Solutions Fund
Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

Paul P. Hinchey, President and CEO of St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems, along with fellow St. Joseph's/Candler executives, are presenting a check for $15,000.00 to the Mayor and Aldermen. This marks the fifth consecutive year that St. Joseph's/Candler has supported the Savannah Affordable Housing Solutions Fund.  These crucial investments provide tangible results for both St. Joseph’s/Candler, and the City of Savannah.  Officials from the Savannah Affordable Housing Solutions Fund Advisory Committee and the Community Housing Services Agency will also be participating in the presentation.

Over the last four years, St. Joseph's/Candler has invested a total of $60,000.00 into the Savannah Affordable Housing Solutions Fund.  These contributions have provided the down payment necessary for 14 modest-wage hospital employees to purchase their first home in the City of Savannah.  This public/private partnership serves as an exemplary model for other Savannah area employers.

Since 2011, the Savannah Affordable Housing Solutions Fund has been locally controlled, and leverages significant private investments to help address the workforce and affordable housing needs and opportunities of our community.  A motion to formally accept this donation appears in the resolution section of the agenda.
