26. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for the Rental of Box Trucks with Enterprise Holdings in the Amount of $80,507. The Litter Crews will assist the Sanitation Department with meeting the growing service demands associated with emptying litter, recycling baskets, removing loose litter from blocks, and maintaining a clean appearance for the City of Savannah.

Description

Recommend approval of a contract for the rental of box trucks with Enterprise Holdings in an amount of $80,507.

The box trucks will be used for litter crews assisting Sanitation with meeting the growing service demands associated with emptying litter, recycling baskets, removing loose litter from blocks and maintaining a clean appearance for the City of Savannah. The box trucks will help the Sanitation Department support the City of Savannah litter initiative. Due to supply chain issues that the automobile industry is facing, the units cannot be purchased at this time and will not be available until FY22. This short-term rental will not exceed 12 months or the amount of $80,507.  

Fleet Services is currently working with the Sanitation Department to procure three (3) F650 Crew Cab in FY22 for the litter crews. The units will be permanently assigned to the Sanitation Department and will end the short-term rental with Enterprise Holdings.

The method of procurement used for this lease is a State contract. Per Section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a State contract. The contract used for this procurement is a State of Georgia contract for Fleet Management (Contract # 99999-SPD-ES40199376IS-02). It was competitively bid by the State of Georgia and expires September 8, 2022.

Delivery: As requested.  Terms:  Net 30 days.  The vendor is:

S.C.  Enterprise Holdings (1025 US Highway 80 W, Garden City, GA 31408)(D)           $80,507

A pre-proposal meeting was not conducted as these litter crew box trucks are being procured through the use of a state contract. (D) Indicates non-local, non-DBE business.
