Recommend approval to award an annual contract for fuel cleaning services with Southern Fox Services, Inc. in the amount of $56,550.

The services will be used by the Stormwater Division to clean and treat approximately 97,000 gallons of number 2 diesel fuel in storage tanks at the City’s seven Stormwater pumping stations. The pumping stations have 22 generators to provide electrical energy for the stations’ pumps. Stored diesel fuel is primarily used by emergency power generators. Fuel cleaning services are needed to ensure that fuel is usable in the event of an emergency requiring the use of the generators.  This fuel must be cleaned and treated with biocide a minimum of every other year to prevent the growth of organisms in the fuel which can harm the generators. This treatment also ensures reliability of the generators for emergency use in powering the pumping stations.

This proposal was advertised, opened, and reviewed.  This contract has (3) three renewal options. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days. The bidder was:
