32. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for 15 Automated External Defibrillators (AED) from Stryker Medical in the Amount of $28,084. The Equipment Will Help Ensure that Savannah Fire Continues to Provide Quality Emergency Medical Services to the Citizens/Visitors of Savannah. AED's are Used to Treat Citizens/Visitors Who Suffer From Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Description

Recommend approval to execute a contract for the purchase of fifteen (15) automated external defibrillators (AED) model LP1000 from Stryker (11811 Willows Road NE, Redmond, WA)(D)  in the amount of $28,084.

The current AEDs (automated external defibrillators) have been discontinued and will no longer be supported. Savannah Fire Department personnel utilizes AED's to treat citizens/visitors who suffer from sudden cardiac arrest. The updated equipment will help ensure that Savannah Fire continues to provide quality emergency medical services to the citizens/visitors of Savannah while meeting strategic goals. The LP1000 from Stryker was chosen to ensure interoperability with Chatham EMS, which allows Savannah Fire to exchange parts and accessories with Chatham EMS in emergencies. 

This is a sole source due to Stryker Medical being the manufacture and only distributor of the LP1000 AED.

Delivery: As needed.  Terms: Net 30 days. The vendor is:
