Title
Motion to Declare Surplus City Owned Property Located at 625 Seiler Avenue
Description

The City acquired a house, located at 625 Seiler Avenue, by way of foreclosure in June 2016 following the death of the property owner. In April 2000, the property owner received a Community Development Block Grant home improvement loan from the City. Foreclosure took place after the deceased property owner’s daughter moved from Savannah and decided that she did not want to work with the City to pay off her mother’s loan.

The underlying lot is rectangular in shape and contains approximately 4,230 square feet with dimensions of 45 feet wide by 94 feet deep. The house was originally built in 1921 and is a three-bedroom one-and-a-half bathroom structure containing approximately 869 square feet.

The 2017 assessed market value of the property, as established by the Chatham County Board of Assessors, is $40,700.00.   According to the Housing Department, the City's current outstanding investment in the property is $49,610.00.

Recommend this property be declared surplus and available for sale to the public.
