Recommend approval to procure Leadership in Police Organizations (LPO) training from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in the amount of $28,149.00. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) personnel will receive 15 days of leadership training, mentoring, and instruction.

The IACP’s LPO is based on behavioral sciences of leadership as developed at West Point. This is a sole source for IACP is the only known supplier providing this specialized training which is geared specifically for law enforcement personnel. The IACP course incorporates the Leadership Thought Process as the common problem analysis and problem solving model for Constitutional Policing. This model develops every officer and civilian as a leader. The material is copyrighted. SCMPD has used this leadership development tool as the foundation of culture change since February 2015.
