Motion to Award the Sale of Surplus Residential Vacant Lots at 1510 Augusta Avenue, 244 McIntyre Street, and 246 McIntyre Street (Event No. 4623)
Description

Recommend approval of the sale of surplus properties located at 1510 Augusta Avenue, 244 McIntyre Street, and 246 McIntyre Street to Mr. Dorsey Pierce, d/b/a Southeast Regional Properties, in the amount of $23,666.00.

In 2012, the City acquired three adjoining vacant residential lots in the West Savannah neighborhood as part of a planned westside urban redevelopment project. The properties were declared surplus and available for sale during a regularly scheduled City Council meeting on June 23, 2016. Event No. 4623 was issued to solicit sealed proposals. One response was received from Mr. Dorsey Pierce, d/b/a Southeast Regional Properties.

Mr. Pierce proposed re-combining the lots to develop a new residential duplex that will be offered for rent. Mr. Pierce originally proposed to purchase the three City lots for $9,000.00. After negotiations, he has agreed to pay $23,666.00 so the City can recover the acquisition and holding costs of these lots.

Financial Impact
