Chatham County and the Georgia Department of Transportation have entered into a contract to replace the Islands Expressway's Bascule Bridge over the Wilmington River with an Intra-Coastal Waterway Clearance Bridge. A three-party utility agreement is required to relocate the City's sanitary force main at this location, which will be required as part of the bridge work. This agreement sets forth the conditions under which GDOT agrees to have its contractor perform the work and by which Chatham County will reimburse GDOT for this work. There is no cost to the City.
