Title
45. Motion to Renew and Modify Annual Contract for Temporary Labor for Summer 500 Program with Chatham Personnel (Event No. 4800)
Strategic Priority
Economic Strength And Poverty Reduction
Description

Recommend approval to renew and modify an annual contract for temporary labor services from Chatham Personnel in the amount of $1,375,700.00.

The City of Savannah has budgeted $70,000.00 to fund the costs of 11 City interns, 22 teachers and other miscellaneous operating supplies and materials. Employers sponsoring Summer 500 interns will fund the costs of those interns.

The Human Services Department will use these services for the Summer 500 Youth Employment Program, which will serve a projected 500 youth for eight weeks from June 4, 2018 to July 27, 2018.

The contract is being modified to require the vendor to possess an electronic system to receive, record, and process payrolls electronically. The electronic system for time-keeping shall also be able to manage proper time approvals for payroll.  This modification will ensure the City of Savannah is not responsible for managing any time keeping or payroll system processes for youth employees not hired by the City of Savannah.

The contract provides a per hour youth worker rate of $10.65  ($8.00 per hour youth wages + $2.65 per hour administrative charge).

This contract will be from April 26, 2018 through December 31, 2018.
