Title
29. Motion to Adopt Resolution Approving Amendment 1 to the Savannah Gardens Urban Redevelopment Plan
Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

The Savannah Gardens Urban Redevelopment Plan was adopted by the Mayor and Aldermen in March 2009 with the primary focus of redeveloping the 44-acre, dilapidated and vacant Strathmore Estates Apartments. Amendment 1 expands the boundary of the Savannah Gardens Urban Redevelopment Plan to include an abandoned, dilapidated former grocery store site just south of the existing boundary; modifies the master plan to reflect proposed land uses for the remaining undeveloped portions of the Urban Redevelopment Plan; and establishes a sunset date for the Plan of December 31, 2021. Adoption of Amendment 1 is also necessary for Mercy Housing SouthEast, Inc.’s 2018 Savannah Gardens housing tax credit application.
